These are old oak steps that a friend gave me
when he was widening a staircase. These will
eventually be the body of the guitar after I plane
them and clean up the edges for joining.
After running them through the table
saw to square up the edges a bit.
You can see from the side of the board
with no stain that they were made from
smaller oak boards. There will not be a
continuous grain pattern on the guitar, but
that might work to my advantage. I am
thinking of putting a piece of maple or
paduak in the top.
